Doing a detox and losing excess fat can actually be one in the same. Losing excess fat is one of the best ways to detox and detoxifying yourself helps you lose excess fat. Unfortunately, many people think doing a detox is only for a defined amount of time. This is true if you are doing any type of fad detox program out there, but those programs are not actually a detox and do little to help you with losing excess fat. A true detox is a lifestyle change; just like a true fat loss program is a lifestyle change. Both of them should be done for life in order to help you optimize your health. So what is the best way to detox? The first place to start is to practice avoidance first. Also remember that we are all being exposed to toxins in our environment all the time, and we should try to minimize our exposure without being neurotic about it; because, a little bit of exposure may actually be a good thing. Here is my way of detoxing that will get rid of the bloat. Had to many carbs over the weekend? Detox and de-bloat.
- Start with 4 meals over the next 3 days mostly protein and fibrous veggies only
- 1 clean starch only after a workout
- 3 liters of water ad a little lemon to sweeten the flush
- 3 intense workouts no more than an hour
- 10-12 hrs of fasting
Your water intake is key to flush out toxins and help to spark your metabolism.
